AFCON Group F Wrap: DR Congo Lose Final Friendly

DR Congo wrapped up their pre-2-023 AFCON training camp on Wednesday with a friendly loss to Burkina Faso in Abu Dhabi.
The 1968 and 1974 AFCON champions lost 2-1 to Burkina Faso in a match The Stallions took a two-nil halftime lead.
Blati Toure put The Stallions ahead in the 36th minute and then Mohamed Konate made it two-nil four minutes.
Olympique Marseille defender Chancel Mbemba pulled one back for DR Congo in the 56th minute.
The Leopards' defeat comes after they drew 0-0 with Angola last Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
DR Congo now heads to Cote d’Ivoire to begin their countdown to their opening Group F encounter against Chipolopolo on January 17 in San Pedro where the pool will be based.
Meanwhile, Group F top seeds Morocco will face Sierra Leone on Thursday in their first pre-tournament friendly in San Pedro.
Morocco was the first Group F side to arrive in San Pedro on Sunday after initially holding a five-day camp back home in Rabat.
Tanzania are also in San Pedro and landed on Monday just 24 hours after losing 2-0 to Egypt in Cairo where they had set-up a pre-tournament camp on January 1.
Zambia will close their ten-day Saudi Arabia camp on Thursday where they played their only friendly on Tuesday a 1-1 draw against Cameroon in Jeddah.
